This page has some ideas about how people can volunteer through education projects.

Once you have read through the pages, you need to work in groups of 4 or 5.

In your groups, come up with a project which you think can be advanced through an educational setting. There are no restrictions, but your idea should be innovative and should aim at adding real value to the people you are trying to help.

As you are working through your project, one of you should be putting together a short presentation (Powerpoint, etc) to explain to the rest of the group what you are trying to achieve.

You should aim to cover the following points, at least.

1.             What are the aims of the project?

-The aim of volunteering is to help other people.

- Co-operation and teamwork between the volunteers

- Gain New Experience and change the lifestyle we had.

2.             Who are the target audience, and why?

The Target Audience are the citizens of UAE and Everyone Else.

To encourage them to volunteer and help them to become a better persons than they are.

3.             What activities would your project involve?

We had a lot of different activities in this project For Example:

1-    We made Gift for Foreign players.

2-    Transfer Training Materials to them.

3-    Helping the referees with some paperwork.

4-    Organize the Fans Area…. Etc

4.             Who would be volunteering? Why?

Everybody can volunteer, with Takatof. They welcome everyone to help them. Also when they volunteer they gain new experience and helping them to fill their free time.

5.             What are the benefits your project could bring to the target audience?

The benefits for the audience are that can help them to learn from us when they watch us what we are doing.

-Also the second benefit for them that they can become a better persons in life. And change their lifestyle.

- The last thing that it can improve your confidence when u different activates.

6.              How would you look into launching your project with reference to the relevant authorities in the UAE and in the country you have targeted?

7.              What problems do you think you might come across and how would you try to get around them?

           We had a problem with communicate with foreign Hockey players. But we can improve it by improving our English and language.

You should aim at one or two of your group making a 4-6 minute presentation to the rest of the group explaining your findings.

Final Self Reflection

Self Reflection

Community service is one of the interesting courses I’ve studied.  It’s all about volunteering for an organization company. This course should be given to the rest of the universities around the world because it helps them to communicate better and make them more socialized.

Through my volunteer experience I learned a lot of things especially, helping people to make them happy and aware them to get in the right way. I volunteered for Takatof organization in the Ice Rink helping the players and make sure that everything they needed will be gotten. I met some new friends out there and that’s helped me a lot to get into the routine. Day by day I like to do it more and more because when you see the smile on the people’s faces while you are helping them make you a happier person and a proud one in the same time.

This experience changed me to a better person because before the experience I was helping people but not that much and I never thought that I will have a volunteer experience because I believed that I should get paid to do a specific job but this experience made me a better volunteer person by helping people with happiness without exhausting.

In the end, I think it was a great experience and this will help me in the near future. We should also thanks the organization company’s around the UAE because they aware people everyday as much as they can just to deliver how useful is volunteer experience is.

6.    To be successful what need to be done?

Ex: In the end, students must be able to type 20wpm English typing.  

Students should have the courage to talk to people directly if they didn't respect the rules.

 

7.    What are the Benefits to the participants? (Both volunteers and recipients)

 It helped me to be more organised in my life and make my lifestyle better. Also, it helped the recipients to get more people. Thus, the more the people the more the tournament is organized.

TAKATOF - DAY#3 - DAY#4

DAY#4

This is our last day in Takatof because we have done 16 hours in Takatof, So it was a very normal day nothing special because there wasn't any matches played they were just training for there next matches. Also, our group was only there for volunteering. Thus, we made sure that we delivered our help in a fast motion. So they don't need anything else because we were there and make sure that we helped them. We took some photos and did some interviews with some players, they were so happy of the Takatof organisation. In the end, it was a nice and a fantastic experience in volunteering and helping people, so you feel happy when you are trying to help people.

DAY#3

This is my third day in Takatof at the same place Ice Rink for the Hockey International Cup. I met with supervisor and he grouped us to do several works I went to the VIP area to help someone if he asked for help and make sure they are in a comfortable situation. After the match finished I met with the Kuwaiti players and got some photos and we did some interviews with them. Also we did an interview with the supervisor. The instructor came to the place and have a look to our work. It was an interesting day.

TAKATOUF VOLUNTEERING - DAY#2

DAY#2

This is my second day in Takatouf volunteering and It was a simple day because  there wasn't any matches played, They were just training for there matches. We just make sure that the players went from the bus to the Ice Rink and we were there to help them if they need something. Also we had a meeting in the Ice Rink were we discussed what are the next matches will be played. After the meeting all of us went to lunch and after the lunch we went to home.

DAY#1 - TAKATOUF

TAKATOUF VOLUNTEER

In the first day I volunteered for Takatouf 4 hours from 1 P.M to 5 P.M in Zayed sport city for Hockey International Cup. We were 6 students volunteering at the same time. I did 2 things, the first thing I did was standing in the penalty Area to write the name of the players when they substitute and when they kicked out for 2 minutes, so I make sure he didn't come on the field until the referee said. When the first Half finished I Went to drink water and get a rest, after 15 minutes I Returned back to the area I should be. After the match finished I went to lunch with the Takatouf group. In the end, It was a day with lots of fun I didn't consider it as a job I just want to have fun and help people out there.
